Zero Waste Shopping
Missing some items? Buy them waste free!
Alberta Co-op Grocery
This grocery cooperative with a farmer's-market vibe features organic produce & many bulk items. Own containers are welcome with discounts!
Public Transportation
Hop on public transit for an easy, low-waste way to get around
For the size of Portland, it's Public Transportation is surprisingly robust and affordable.
A light rail ride from the airport to downtown only costs $2.85, and they also have a max of $5 per day, meaning that you can hop on and off of buses, and you won't be charged more than $5.
Food options in Portland
Finding options that are great for taste buds and the planet
Portland food trucks are the thing to get! Although unfortunately, this makes going waste-free a lot more difficult. You can ask the vendor if they are willing to use your container, but it's hit & miss!
Blue Star Donuts
I personally like Blue Star Donuts more than Voodoo! But both are solid options, and you can ask to be placed in your own containers, although it might be harder at the Airport location.
